What Plastics Can Be Recycled with Reviver Units?

We all know recycling is important, but figuring out what plastics can and can’t be recycled can get confusing. At Cycled, we want to make it as simple as possible. That’s why our Reviver units are designed to help you recycle the most common plastics you use daily, turning them into new, useful items. Here’s a quick guide to the types of plastics you can recycle with us:

Plastic Type 1: PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)

You’ve probably come across PET more than you think—it’s the stuff your water and soda bottles are made from. This plastic is perfect for recycling because it can be turned into everything from new bottles to carpets and even clothing fibers. By recycling PET through our units, you’re helping keep tons of plastic out of landfills and giving it a second life.

Plastic Type 2: HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)

Ever wonder what happens to all those milk jugs, detergent bottles and plastic caps after you’re done with them? HDPE is a tough, durable plastic that can be recycled into long-lasting items like benches, piping, or even more containers. It’s a super versatile material, and our SmartBins handle it easily, ensuring it gets turned into something useful again.

Did you notice that bottles and bottle caps are not the same type of plastic? This is why it is so important that you recycle bottles and their caps separately. With Cycled you even get extra points for doing so! Keep reading to learn about our rewards system.

Plastic Type 5: PP (Polypropylene)

PP is the plastic you’ll find in your yogurt or food containers. It’s lightweight and resistant to chemicals, making it perfect for recycling into products like car parts and packaging materials. Although not as commonly recycled as PET or HDPE, we’ve got you covered—our Reviver 1000 units accept PP and keep it out of landfills.

Keep an eye out for which Reviver units can accept PET, HDPE and PP plastics. Typically our Reviver 360 units will accept mainly PET plastics, whereas the larger Reviver 1000 units will accept all PET, HDPE and PP.

What About Other Plastics?

Other types of plastics you will come across are PVC (Type 3), Polystyrene (Type 6)(think foam coffee cups), or mixed plastics like Type 7. We are always looking to improve and expand on the types of materials we can accept so in the future it will be even easier for you to recycle. Until then, keep recycling your PET, HDPE and PP with us and keep an eye out for when you can recycle more materials and get even more rewards.

How Does the Reward System Work?

Here’s the fun part—every time you recycle with Cycled’s Reviver Units, you earn points. These points can be redeemed for awesome rewards through our app, which partners with over 100 brands. Whether you’re into dining, wellness, entertainment, or shopping, there’s something for everyone. Plus, it’s a great way to make recycling more rewarding for you and your community as you can also choose to donate your points to the charities you support

It’s very easy: Simply download the app, head to your nearest Reviver unit that accepts the items you want to recycle, scan the QR code on the screen and deposit your recyclables. Your points will be credited to your account instantly so you can spend them right away in any way you wish.
